I cannot talk in the game and idk why.

i am fairly new to minecraft and infact just bought the game today and i was able to talk earlier but now i cannot. i was trying to talk but nothing was coming up. i didnt know if i just couldnt see it but no one was responding to me.

First, is the chatbox actually coming up?

The default chat binding is the letter "T"

Also, you maybe lagging. Try disconnecting then reconnecting and chat again.

like the chat box comes up and i type in what i want to say and it just drops down without saying anything when i hit enter and i reconnected plty of times and im not lagging that much

Try going to c:/users/[yourname]/appdata/roaming/.minecraft

and deleting the bin folder, then reopening minecraft and it will re-download the files for you

(NOTE appdata is a hidden folder, so you cant see it by default, but if you type it into the address bar it will come up)

idk what the problem is with it i still cant talk. maybeim muted or somthing.

Your not muted :/ seems client sided to me.

Have you tried playing from another computer or from minecraft.net vs the downloaded client?

i went ony my laptop is which were i orignally played for 10 minutes then it just sucked because of lag so iw ent on our desktop and i ve tried both and the client wont play on my laptop
